Antigone lives*
antigone lives* is an unfaithful retelling of Sophocle’s original.
Part techno rave, part epic tragedy, the story dives into the despair and dark humour of family politics in a 200 bpm exploration of the carcass of democracy and notions of revolution as an attempt to navigate the growing crisis of displaced peoples in the *global village*. This Canadian premiere workshop production featured undergraduate actors and designers from the undergraduate drama division at the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary in 2018.
